Although Law and Order: Special Victims Unit is as old as most of The Current’s readers, it is still adored by millions and remains in the top ten TV shows over the past several years.

American Horror Story: Freak Show has left fans hungry for more, raving over Twisty The Clown and Dandy, the pretty rich boy with a medley of mental problems. As with most seasons of American Horror Story, fans either love it or hate it, but one things for sure: millions of people are tuning every Wednesday night to see just how much freakier things can get.

Netflix Original: Orange Is The New Black was also a 2014 great, with nearly 15 million viewers taking a step behind bars to enjoy the hit Netflix series, which is based on a true story, and depicts life for Piper Chapman, who is serving 15 months for a crime she committed nearly a decade ago.

How I Met Your Mother wrapped up this year, leaving every fan teary eyed wishing that the show would somehow return. Without spoiling, the ending to the long running show left some fans satisfied, but nonetheless distressed that the show was finally over. The season and shows finale catered to 12.9 million viewers, all curious as to how Ted met his childrens’ mother.

Game of Thrones seems to be completely taking the world by storm, with nearly 10 million viewers tuning in every Sunday to find out who will die next in the fight for the throne. It’s worth noting that the show is based on the novels under the same title by George R. R. Martin.

The Big Bang Theory is also a fan favorite. Many tune in to watch the science oriented comedy that depicts a group of physicists fighting for (while nonetheless dreading) the attention of their attractive new neighbor and her equally attractive roommates.
