September has finally arrived, and alongside with it is the beginning of a new school year. For students in the Ossining Union Free School District, a new school webpage look has been installed. The changes in the website were made before the start of the 2015-2016 school year and has taken the previous design and completely reworked the site, from the inside, and out. These changes do not only apply to the district page alone, but all the school web pages within the district as well.

The OUFSD webpage has been a useful tool for students, and parents alike. The webpage has always provided an easy way to access various sites, that are critical to student life, and ways for parents to contact the faculty and staff of OHS. While the previous design did this well, the new design builds upon this concept and provides a more condense, and efficient form to access the various sites. The new design allows for a convenient way to access the multiple social media platforms of the district.

Despite the drastic change to the webpage, it still has its traditional color palette consisting of Ossining Pride’s maroon and white, with the addition of a subtle grey, but this time around white is a driving force. While maroon has been used to emphasize the site itself. The district has presumably made changes in order to fix issues, with the previous design, and to provide the district with a more professional site. The changes have given the website a more professional “feel”, by giving the website a more round minimalistic look. The minimalistic style has also provided a more effective method of navigation through the many subdivisions of the website. In order to improve on current developments, change is the way. The new design has created a webpage that has built upon its predecessor and is, in some ways better and more efficient. While change may occur some time in the future, for now the new design is here to stay
