Kyle Cristello, an Ossining three-season Varsity athlete, was chosen for this month’s athlete of the month for his vast achievements on the Ossining football team. Cristello has been a committed member of the football program for several years and was named a senior captain this season. He is not only committed and talented, but is passionate about this sport.

Here’s what Kyle had to say when reflecting on his final season as an Ossining football player.

TC: How did you feel your season was overall?

KC: “I was very excited while entering my senior season, knowing it was my last time putting on an Ossining football uniform. I expected a better turnout for my senior season, but the relationships I have formed and the moments I have spent with my teammates have not only grown, but made my last season better than I could have imagined.”

TC: What were some accomplishments you achieved this year?

KC: “One major accomplishment our team had achieved this season was winning every game at home. Although we had a negative record, not losing a home game is one of the best feelings a football player can have. Also, I received All-Section for football this year, which was a personal goal of mine.”

TC: If you could go back and do over one thing during the football season, what would it be?

KC: “There is nothing that I would do over about this season. This season meant a lot to me and it was much more than I could’ve asked for to achieve as much as we did, with a great coaching staff, and great teammates.”

TC: What are you plans for the future and are you pursuing football in college?

KC: “At the moment, I plan to play football at Deerfield Academy for a post-graduate year, and hopefully pursue football in college. It’s my passion and its something that I want to continue in my future wherever I go.”
