Pageant girl Melissa King exuded beauty and happiness when she was crowned Miss Delaware Teen USA this past year. But her pageant victory was only one of many recent instances where King was being seen on footage. On February 26, 2013, she made the decision to resign her title, giving up her crown as a result of intense accusations that she took a part in an online sex video. On top of being accused of participating in a pornographic video King is wanted in Maryland for failing to appear for her court date. To add insult to injury, the pageant queen was also charged with stealing money from the Town of Ocean City, Maryland, on June 7. Additionally, the 18 year old was accused of possession of alcohol on August. 2. Because King failed to appear for both hearings, the State of Maryland has issued warrants for her arrest.

The story gets a little hazy. King initially denied appearing in the pornographic film, telling The Delaware Online that she was “absolutely not” in the alleged video. However, a representative from the site that ran the video told TMZ, a paparazzi news website, that King had approached them about appearing in pornographic videos. The representative said that King expressed interest in shooting additional scenes but that the company was not interested. Thus, the company that produced the video leaked a confession of King stating that it was her in the video. In the safe-for-work video, King is reading a release form out loud, prior to the adult video shoot in May. “I, Melissa King, am doing this … scene of my own free will and I am of sound mind and body,” King says on tape. Because of this dispute’s  “he said, she said” characteristics, this case will probably not go much further. The drama began to slow down once Melissa King stepped down and resigned from her title, yet it is still very tragic to see a young woman who stood for her morals and wowed the judges with her girl- next- door character to have such a daunting, dark secret come out.
