While we delve into the holiday season it can be assumed that family provide as much entertainment as one could need. However, if you’re looking to escape your family or maybe chose an event where talking will be limited, decide on heading to the movies. I direct you to chose this event not only as an escape but also because there are a myriad of good movies in the theaters. There are even movies for all types of movie lovers. A great children’s (or adult) movie came out called Sing and I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews. Although I haven’t seen it myself I was made aware that it is about a group of animals that come together for a holiday talent show, sounds a little like my family gatherings. In terms of romance movies Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone’s unquestionable chemistry is showcased in the new film La La Land that combines love and the pursuit of one’s passion despite their struggles. For the Sci Fi fans the sequel to the newest Star Wars movie is out and although I am not a sci fi fan I expect this movie to be a must see because of the quality of the previous remake. And lastly if your own family drama isn’t enough to keep you busy check out the film Why Him? about a girl whose awkward boyfriend clashes with her father when they meet, just a side note, James Franco has a main role. As an additional suggestion, before it leaves theaters, I give my greatest recommendation for the movie Nocturnal Animals. It was a truly moving film and way more thrilling than the trailer portrays. Also, Jake Gyllenhaal is amazing as always as he is portrayed playing multiple characters. The story gives multiple curve-balls and always keep you guessing. If you’re seeking mental stimulation on your break from school I highly recommend. In closing, despite all the family drama, I hope you all are happy and well this holiday season.
