The Class of 2015 had a successful year. At first people were worried about financing this year’s semi formal dance. But attitudes have shifted and the class of 2015 is ready for their semi formal, Prom, and other events that will follow. So how did it all happen? The Current had the chance to sit down with junior class president Brinda Ramesh and ask her some questions about how she got things going, and what the future holds the Class in their last year at OHS.

The Current: What complicated getting semi ready for this year’s Junior class?

Brinda Ramesh: There wasn’t enough interest in semi this year.

TC: If the Junior class didn’t get 125 tickets sold for Ceola Manor [where the event will be held], would semi have taken place in the gym?

BR: If we didn’t sell 125 tickets we would have had to give people back their money. Semi in the gym wouldn’t have cost as much so, yes. Semi most likely would have been in the gym.

TC: Was there a net loss of money?

BR: There was no net loss. We paid what was required for semi and we did not lose money.

TC: Is there extra money for next year’s prom?

BR: There is plenty of money for prom next year and we are trying to keep tickets as low as possible by fundraising as much as possible. We’re trying to have one of the best proms ever.

TC: What can the class of 2015 do to enhance next year’s prom?

BR: Getting more people motivated is important. We need to get more people to participate in raising money, so that we have more money for prom.

TC: Anything else to add?

BR: Yes. Our prom is fine and we will be having one of the best ever. We just need more people to be motivated and participate in the fundraising of money.
