Michael O’ Connor is a wide receiver, punter, and kick off returner for the Ossining High School Varsity football team. The 2013 season was one full of success, victory, and astonishment for both O’ Connor and his team. The Current has interviewed the senior star in order to highlight his great success as a varsity player for the past four years.
TC: What do you think was your greatest accomplishment in the 2013 football season?
MC: My greatest accomplishment was catching a game winning touchdown pass vs. Poughkeepsie.
TC: What was the secret to your success, both as a team and as an individual?
MC: The secret to my success was giving every play everything I had. The secret to the team’s success was playing as one unit on every drive
TC: Did you have any pre game rituals you performed in order to insure you would have a good game?
MC: I would do a pre-game prayer and would listen to music that would make me happy.
TC: What are you planning to do next, both intellectually and athletically?
MC: I will be playing college lacrosse at SUNY Cortlandt and will try to walk onto the football team there. On an intellectual level, I am going to try and pursue a career in advertising.
