As senior and star athlete Gabby Hagerman begins to wrap up her last soccer season at Ossining High School, we were able to catch up with her and have her shed some light on the difficulties involved with playing multiple sports year round, and to discuss her already stellar athletic year at OHS.

TC: What sports do you play? Which one do you like the most?

GH:  I play soccer, lacrosse and winter track. I love them all because they’re all different games in their own way, but I enjoy playing soccer the most and play all year around.

TC: What is one of the best moment you have had in your athletic career?

GH: One of my greatest accomplishments as an athlete would be when I was All-league during my first year of Winter Track and scored the winning goal in important league games (soccer season).

TC: If you could change any rule of any sport what would it be? Why?

GH: In soccer I would change the physical rules and allow pushingㅡbeing aggressive is a big part of the game.

TC: How do you balance playing 3 varsity sports?

GH: Balancing sports and school all year around can be difficult. Having a set schedule of my practices and games makes it easy to work around. I’ve always been the type of person to get my school work done before practice because I’m not exhausted. I know that my studies come first and I wouldn’t be able to participate without getting my work done.

TC: What major are you interested in?

GH: I’m interested in Occupational Therapy as my major.
