Athlete of the Month: Chris Rinaldi

Jane Mundadan, Staff Writer

Senior Chris Rinaldi, also captain of the Ossining Varsity Boys Swim Team, has been leading the team this winter. Although Chris has only been swimming with the team for two years, his ability to maneuver in the water says otherwise. For his spectacular leadership, in and out of the pool, Rinaldi has been named Athlete of the Month.

TC: How does this season compare to last year’s?
CR: I’d have to say this swim season has proved to be a lot more successful than last season considering our record is significantly better, which I am quite happy about.

TC: Have you accomplished any goals that you set for yourself in the beginning of the season?
CR: I accomplished my goal of beating my fastest 50 meter freestyle time several times over the course of the season, but I plan to accomplish my team’s goal of winning the sectional title in the weeks to come, a feat never accomplished by Ossining Varsity Boys Swimming.

TC: What about your teammates? Have they helped you, or vice-versa?
CR: I’m very proud of my teammates this year. They are a quality group of guys who have made this season one to remember without a doubt. Each one of them is making this season the great experience it is, and I’m glad to say I am a part of this team.

As the swim season continues, Rinaldi remains determined, dedicated and motivated to touch the wall of victory.
