Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire have failed to lead the Knicks to a good start to the season

The start of the new NBA season causes a team’s optimism to be sky high, especially for the New York Knicks, whose 2013 team had just missed the playoffs with a 38- 44 record. There appeared to be some team chemistry issues on last year’s roster but Phil Jackson made some impressive moves this offseason to help lift the team from last years woes to better fit Phil Jackson’s game plan on winning with  the  “Triangle Offense”:the same system that got Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls six NBA titles and Kobe Bryant  and the Los Angeles Lakers five more NBA titles. First year head coach Derek Fisher, who won with the Los Angeles Lakers, was supposed to be Phil’s protege, expectations were high and somewhat unrealistic with hopes of making it to the conference finals. Analysts expected the team to lose a few games, but no one expected them to start off the season with a 2-7 record. Phil still could bring in players by possibly trading a young player to get people better suited for this style of play. but we can’t count this team out just yet, this team still needs to work itself out in this new system and turn itself around, in order to get itself back into playoff contention.
