Was Halloween A Bust This Year?

Halloween is a holiday favorite for millions throughout America. Being able to clothe yourself in a new identity of your choosing for a day, spending all night out with your friends, and hoarding excessive amounts of sugar-filled candy all make Halloween one truly special and exciting occasion. However, this year there were quite a few downfalls on this spooky night. What with killer clowns going viral and Monday night cutting the parties short, many were left disappointed. Was Halloween bound to be a bust this year? Depending on how you approached it, maybe not.

Killer clowns had many frightened this fall, but still prevented few from dressing up and trick-or-treating. Ossining High School, for example, implemented a ban on clown costumes allowing for safety and security without sacrificing the fun holiday. At night, children stayed in groups and with adults to ensure that everyone stayed together and away from deserted neighborhoods. Along with this, school night curfews didn’t pose problematic for everyone. Rather than going out Monday night, numerous people shifted their plans to the weekend prior to hang out with their friends and dress up in costumes. In a way, this “Halloweekend” assisted in creativity for students, forcing them to come up with multiple costumes for every night of the weekend to make for even more pictures and fun times.

This Halloween had its highs and lows but, just as with anything, every person’s experience really just depended on how he or she spun it. For those truly dedicated to this eerie night, nothing will stop them from having a good time.
