New SmartPlate Technology

Obesity has been a growing epidemic in America. Hopefully, Philadelphia based company, Fitly, has found the key to a healthy lifestyle. Fitly’s new “SmartPlate” is the first of its kind; allowing customers to easily track and examine their everyday meals. The SmartPlate has built in sensors and cameras to both weigh and view the food before it is eaten. The new technology will have the ability to determine the category of food you are eating; all the way down to the type of sauce on the plate. A total of three scales can be used at once to weigh all of the food on your advanced plate. In addition to figuring out how much food is put onto the plate, Fitly has equipped the SmartPlate with a special sensor to alert its owner if they are eating their meal too fast. The SmartPlate will alleviate the stress of remembering each meal you eat throughout the day by automatically logging information.  Since the plate is equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the results can instantly be transported to your smartphone. If consumers forget their SmartPlate, a smartphone associated with their SmartPlate account can be used anywhere to scan the barcode of an item, and add it to their daily meal plan.

Unfortunately, the SmartPlate will not be released until $100,000 can be raised to pay for the manufacturing costs. Fitly’s CEO Anthony Ortiz, believes his company will be able to meet their original June 2016 delivery allowing them to share their game-changing product. The SmartPlate’s retail price will be $199 but will be sold for $99 for the first 200 customers. In addition to these prices, a microwavable pouch can be purchased for about $25 so your SmartPlate can be taken anywhere you go and be used for all occasions. The ease of the SmartPlate should entice people to strive toward becoming healthier. This new technology could assist people of all walks of life, ranging from athletes to diabetics. If the SmartPlate is promoted enough, it could be life changing for millions of people.
